Arctic sea routes open as ice melts

It's great to know that some politicians are responding to this by bargaining over rights to oil under the melting ice.
Wikileaks cables show race to carve up Arctic
There's a great demo the reporter uses to communicate the lost volume of ice. She has a jug of ice cubes which she asks you to imagine are 10x10x10km. 30 years ago in the summer Arctic there was the equivalent of 18 of these, now there are just 4.
